  • A special Urbi et Orbi blessing

On Friday 27 March, Pope Francis presided over an extraordinary moment of prayer on the Sagrato of St Peter’s Basilica in Rome. This focused on Jesus’ words in the boat during the storm, “Why are you afraid? Have you no faith?” Pope Francis entrusted all people to the Lord through the intercession of Mary.

The ceremony concluded with Pope Francis giving the Urbi et Orbi Blessing. The blessing “to the City [of Rome] and to the World” is normally only given on Christmas and Easter.
