We give thanks to our new Saint, St John Henry Newman... watch the film of his life
We give thanks to John Henry Newman who became England’s first saint in over 300 years when he was canonised on 13 October in Rome. Our two Cardinal Newman schools were represented there.
Newman described the holiness of daily life thus: “The Christian has a deep, silent, hidden peace, which the world sees not… The Christian is cheerful, easy, kind, gentle, courteous, candid, unassuming; has no pretence… with so little that is unusual or striking in his bearing, that he may easily be taken at first sight for an ordinary man”
To celebrate the canonisation of John Henry Newman, Bishop Barron's John Henry Newman: The Convert film is FREE to watch until 31 October 2019.
In this beautiful feature length film, you will discover how he used his prodigious intellectual gifts to help the Church better understand its identity and mission and engage the challenges of a secular age.
It's the perfect opportunity to learn about this brilliant theologian who was canonised on 13 October 2019.
