Are you ready to inspire and encourage young peopleto put their faith into action?
The diocesan Education Service has been approached by the Young Vincentians section of the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) in order to pass on information about recruitment of a Young Vincentians Development Officer (YVDO).
As you are aware, the St Vincent de Paul Society has a fantastic programme for primary schools called Mini Vinnies or for secondary schools & colleges or parishes called Youth SVP (11-14 years old) & B-Attitude (14-18 years old). At the moment they have one Development Officer operating in the Diocese. However, they would like to have more YVDOs as this person is crucial to setting up any of the above mentioned groups in schools. The SVP operate high standards when it comes to setting up and supporting these wonderful groups, and this is precisely what a Young Vincentians Development Officer does. This person does not have to be a SVP member, and they will receive training in two phases. Details about this role are in the application pack attached.
At the moment, the SVP believe that they need to focus on finding a Development Officer, especially for Mini Vinnies, because that is where there is most demand within the diocese. It would be unfortunate if they were not able to meet the demand of schools to adopt the Mini Vinnies programme because the Central Council was unable to find someone for the role. For this reason, the SVP has asked us to contact schools and to put details on our website so that Arundel and Brighton Central Council may be able to recruit someone.
The SVP has asked if every primary & secondary school in Arundel and Brighton Diocese could put up the recruitment poster on their staff noticeboard, to try and help them find a Development Officer.
For further details, please contact the SVP by emailing the Young Vincentians Team at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 020 7703 3030.
